Ari Lennox
Courtney Shanade Salter (born March 26th, 1991) better known by her professional title Ari Lennox is an American artist and singer hailing who hails from Washington, D.C. She is the first female artist to be affiliated with J. Cole's label Dreamville Records. Dreamville Records released her debut EP titled Pho in October of 2016 when she began getting noticed. Shea Butter Baby released her first album of studio work on 7 May 2019. Ari Lennox posted her songs online in 2012 after she released her Five Finger Discount mixtape and Ariography EP in 2013. In 2014, she continued to upload her music via the internet including her independently launched single Bound. Sweat It is included on Omen's Elephant Eyes album on July 21, 2015. Later that year her music was circulating throughout the Dreamville team, as J. Cole wanted her to join him in creating some references for Rihanna. Then, in December of 2008 it was revealed that Rihanna had signed with Dreamville Records. She made an appearance on the joint album Revenge of the Dreamers II featuring the track Backseat Cozz. On October 21, 2016 her debut EP was released under the name Pho. Ari Lennox then appeared as the opening act for J. Cole on his song Change in 2017 and also performed on 4 Your Eyez Only Tour. The singer also performed on the songs Nothing but the Best by EarthGang and Icarus along with Bas and her labelmates. Ari Lennox debuted her first single from Shea Butter Baby, Whipped Cream on the 16th of July in 2018. A music video was later released in September. She released her second single Grampa on November 9. The 13th of November, she released two more singles called The No One as well as Pedigree. Shea Butter Baby was released as her first single on February 26, 2019 for her album Creed II. Shea Butter Baby appeared along with Cole as part of her Creed II sound track on the 16th of November. In February of 2019, a music clip was released for the song. It has already received more than three million hits on YouTube within the debut week. In December 2018, she was part of The From East Atlanta With Love Tour featuring 6LACK.
